Why Listening to Your Gremlins is KEY If You Want More Intimacy

Updated: Jun 10, 2019

Do you sometimes hold-back or avoid taking important steps because you’re just too scared or overwhelmed? What would be different if you could use your fears to activate your courage like never before?

When it comes to intimate relationships, you’ve probably heard me say that every argument with your partner contains a secret wish for growth:

A secret desire to work through an old conflict or trigger differently - so you can create and master a NEW emotional experience around it (instead of repeating the same disappointing patterns on auto-pilot).

Can you relate?

The same holds true when it comes to our personal suffering, struggles and anxieties. It’s human nature to shrink and avoid “difficult feelings” (especially feelings we judge as being ‘bad’), but when we hide from our shadows we do ourselves a great disservice.

How would your life be different if you could use your personal struggles to access more love, compassion & trust within yourself and with your mate? (PS if you’re a parent this will work with your kids, too).

Imagine what would change if instead of staying stuck in fight-flight or freeze reactions you had a way to embrace the difficult feelings and learn from them?

Our most intense fears or ‘gremlins’ are usually trying to show us exactly what we still need… as long as we’re willing to listen and enlist them on our journey towards growth and deeper self-trust.

Last week I made a quick 6 minute video in our online community Couples Creating Conscious Connection where I shared a 4 step framework for transforming your ‘difficult feelings’ into fuel for powerful growth.

I wanted to share it with you here in case you missed it…

I hope it’s as helpful to you as it has been in in my own life and the lives of my clients.

When practiced regularly, these steps can truly help you connect with your courage so that you can befriend your discomfort, take aligned action and step into your personal power with confidence!

Once you watch the video, feel free to comment below and let me know how it goes!

I love hearing from you!

PS. If you want to find out how leaning-into your fears is the best way to cultivate self-expansion, self-trust & freedom, don’t miss this 6-minute video. You’ll thank yourself for learning how you can transform your struggles into fuel for powerful growth!
